The Pyramid Of Development

The Pyramid of Learning (Williams & Shellenberger) as the architectural blueprint for a child’s development. The biological tests we discussed (Stool MCS, ESR, etc.) address the foundation upon which the entire pyramid sits.
If the biology is “noisy,” the foundation is cracked, and no amount of high-level tutoring or behavioral therapy can remain stable.

Phase 1: Clearing the "Biological Noise" (The Foundation)

Before we even look at the first level of the pyramid, we must address the Internal Environment.
● The Disruption: If a child has high ESR (inflammation) or Candida (yeast) from a Stool MCS, their nervous system is in a constant state of "survival mode."
● The Result: The brain is too busy managing internal "fires" (gut pain, toxic metabolites, or nutrient deficiencies) to process external information. This is why we start with the root cause—to quiet the noise so the brain can finally listen.

Phase 2: Building the Nervous System (The Bottom Tier)

Once the biology is stabilized, we move to the first functional level of the pyramid: Sensory Systems.
● Proprioception & Vestibular: With inflammation reduced, the brain can more accurately receive signals about where the body is in space.
● Tactile & Sensory Processing: When the gut-brain axis is healthy, the "hypersensitivity" often seen in autistic children frequently softens, allowing them to tolerate different textures and sounds.
● The Maive Brain Approach: This is where we integrate Primitive Reflexes. If the body is still inflamed, the nervous system remains "guarded," making it nearly impossible to integrate these foundational reflexes.

Phase 3: Sensory-Motor Development (The Middle Tiers)

As the nervous system becomes more organized, we climb higher. This is the stage of:
● Postural Security: Strengthened by your pediatric chiropractic care and hemispheric balance.
● Motor Planning (Praxis): The child begins to move with intention rather than just reaction.
● The Result: Because the Nutritional Tests ensured the brain has the B12 and Vitamin D it needs, the "wiring" (myelination) of these motor pathways happens faster and more efficiently.

Phase 4: Learning & Behavior (The Apex)

The top of the pyramid represents Academic Learning, Social Skills, and Daily Living Activities.
● The Maive Brain Logic: Most traditional systems try to "pull" the child to the top of the pyramid through repetitive drilling.
● Our Root-Cause Logic: By using EUCR to ensure detoxification and Nutritional Tests to fuel the brain, we "push" the child up from the bottom. When the nervous system is built on a clean biological foundation, eye contact, speech (communication), and emotional regulation emerge naturally rather than being forced.

Summary of the Maive Brain Workflow

  1. Bio-Cleanup: Clear yeast, inflammation, and deficiencies (The Tests).
  2. Reflex Integration: Calm the “fight or flight” and build the sensory base.
  3. Hemispheric Balance: Use neuro-technologies to sync the left and right brain.
  4. Functional Success: The child achieves the “Apex” (School, Social, Life).
